"Dopoguerra" marks the debut release on Prophecy Productions after leaving their former label My Kingdom Music on which they released "Undressed Momento" in 2003. Their debut started with some samplings ending with a progressive number with keyboards. On "Dopoguerra" the intro is also a sampling but the closing tracks are far from being progressive and I even feel like they are fillers and not adding anything to the album. This leaves us with the best part including song # 2 "They were wed by the sea" to 8 "La Tregua". One of the first things I noticed when listening to "Dopoguerra" was a similitude to U2 in the lead guitar playing and a bit in the vocals too. The promo sheet mentions other bands like The Cure, The Police etc…The guitar work on this album is what I enjoyed the most and I particularly appreciate the clean sound and also when a bit of echo is being used. On each song you also have a great sounding bass and drum, melodic lines, catchiness, sad or melancholic moments and heavy riffing. I can hear some keyboards in the background as well even if it's not listed on my information.
The bulk of this release is pleasant to hear but I can't really point out any compositions as having anything outstanding and the last two tracks are a bit boring. It seems like the guys used basically the same formula in their songwriting which gives a certain feel of redundancy to the album.
