My Kingdom Music brings us another new band that is full of talent and introducing themselves with a top quality strong first debut. Formed officially in 1999 by Marco Soellner and Paolo respectively on guitar/vocals and drums. Later on joined by guitar player Alessandro Pace and bassist Davide Pesola. "Undressed Momento" was recorded under the supervision of Giuseppe Orlando and Massimiliano Pagliuso, both members of the famous Italian doom act Novembre. The musicians also contributed with orchestrations and vocal parts.
What begins strangely with some sort of old song being shut down by what I gather being a woman who then light
s a cigarette, finished by the most aggressive and progressive number on the album and it is by the way one of the best song with its great sounding dramatic symphonic keyboard parts. These are the extremes of "Undressed Momento". What's in between is actually milder and even catchier to a certain degree. I would call their music gothic with a clean and enjoyable male vocals. Nothing harsh or female diva but just plain good clean vocals on this disc. Mid pace rhythm, punching bass and drums, clean lead, good riffs and an overall good sound and excellent production make this first effort even more pleasant to listen to. Discreet keyboards here and there for an additional emotional touch. "We don't need no music" contains varied language such as French spoken words, begins in Italian to continue for most part in English. Good and different. The compositions are basically simple and melodic but without being boring or too technical at the same time. They don't reinvent anything musically but that is most likely not what the band was going for.
