Klimt 1918 "Undressed Momento"

::: Review taken from Heavy Metal Mania, Greece :::

Klimt 1918 come from Italy and they play emotional music. It is a mellow album that features desolate atmospheres enshrouded by vibrant guitars full of melancholia. Influences from Anathema, Katatonia and The Cure are highly noticeable and that is something the band needs to work on, although it doesn't sound bad, cause they play well and they are convincing. The orchestrations were made by Massimiliano Pagliuso of Novembre, while Giuseppe Orlando (also from Novembre) participates in one song. The songs are always electric but not heavy enough and they are mostly driven by the rhythm section and some avandgarde sounds. I was very much touched by some songs, but I didn't like some others, so I guess they achieve their goal half way. "We don't need no music" is the best song of the album, depressing, full of emotions, it really touches your inner soul. The singer follows the mood of the music. His voice is calm, melancholic, yet he never refers to whining or other show-offs to show that he is sad. A very decent album by this Italian band.
