Klimt 1918 "Undressed Momento"

::: Review taken from Infected Sound Magazine # 3, Maggio 2006, Messico :::

"Undressed Momento" is the first record from Klimt 1918, an Italian band that takes its name from the Austrian painter Gustav Klimt and his year of death.
Music wise they mix several influences such as new wave, rock, and pop from the 80's (well made pop not the plastic one), bands like The Cure, Duran Duran,The Police (Marco's voice reminds me of Sting at times) and the emotional elements of current bands like Katatonia, Anathema or the mellower side of Opeth. All this spiced with a good instrumental technique and capacity to write intimistic and catchy melodies plus the excellent production courtesy of Giuseppe Orlando and Massimiliano Pagliuso from Novembre. Some recommended tracks are: "Parade of Adolescence", "That Girl" and "Stalingrad Theme", this one is the 'heaviest' of the album.
If you like good quality and emotional music, Klimt 1918 is a good choice.
