It was a cold day in Belgrade, but me and my brother
didn't notice that,
because we had been waiting
for Katatonia and Klimt 1918 gig for a long time. First thing
happened when we
arrived at the club, we met the
members from both bands. They were really nice,
especially the guys
from Klimt. We even had the chance to hear rehearsal
from both bands (Klimt played "Snow of
'85").
The gig started around 21:30. First there was a
local band, Follower; they were okay
(sorry guys, but personally I don't neither know more about this act;
Mery's note)...
Then our beloved Italian band walks
on the stage! We were in the first row, in front of Marco. Paolo sets
the drums; Marco, Francesco and Davide set
pedals and guitars, and then the great gig started!
We
will never forget the moment when the intro from "Dopoguerra"
started and then the band kicked in "They
were wed by
the sea".
Other beautiful songs from "Dopoguerra"
followed and they also played two tracks from
"Undressed Momento".
We can tell you that every song was special to
us. They finished
with a MARVELLOUS version of "Sleepwalk
in Rome": that was
some special moment! Good sound, the band in
great form and fans gave a great response to
the band. Before the gig, only about
10-15 people in the room heard Klimt before (included
us) and there were around 400 people that night: we
can tell you that after the gig, Klimt's
got many many
more fans than before. Many people were talking about Klimt 1918 after
the gig, and they were surprised by the great
music they heard for the first time!
Set-list: Intro,
They were wed
by the sea,
Snow
of
'85, Rachel, Nightdriver,
Because
of you,
tonight, That girl,
Parade of adolescence,
Sleepwalk in Rome.
After a short break, Katatonia
prepared their equipment and were ready to kick some ass! What a great
gig they produced to us! They moved and headbanged
on stage like never before (Jonas was smiling during the gig?!?)!
Both the band and the fans had a GREAT time!
Katatonia started with "Leaders",
then followed by some other song from "The
great cold distance",
"Viva Emptiness" and "Last
fair deal gone
down"... Every song
was the highlight of the night. They closed
with the stunning version of "Murder".
Set-list:
Leaders, Wealth, Soil's
Song, Had to leave,
Deadhouse, Teargas,
Ghost of the
sun, Criminals, July, The
future of speech,
Tonight's
music, For my
demons, Sleeper,
My twin, Evidence, Murder.
So, in the end, we can tell you that both Klimt 1918
and Katatonia are great live bands. Very good sounds.
And we can tell both bands that they must come here in Serbia again and
again, because they have
some really loyal fans here
(included us). Thank you! |
