Klimt 1918 is a four piece from Italy whose music sounds like the usual gothic rock with a mix of 80's pop (Depeche Mode, U2, Duran Duran, ect.). The band presents to the listener with this mix, which results in a nice melancholic experience.
Marco's vocals are a big part of this as his soft morose voice instantly capture ones attention. In a way he reminds me Jonas from Katatonia, but with Marco's vocals you can easily hear his Italian accent, which I think is a good thing honestly. The music is mostly slowly played rock music with occasional moments where you could consider it metal. This happens during a few of the choruses as the guitars pick up in speed and some double bass is used on the drums. My favorite song on this release is the second song "Pale Song", which is just a fantastic song! Marco's vocals are very emotional, the guitar work is great, and it's one of the heavier songs on the album. This is one of those songs that I wish would never end, because every time I listen to the album I end up playing this song over and over again.
Taken as a whole this is decent recording that should easily please fans of the bands and styles mentioned above. The songs tend to get a little boring towards the end of the album, but in my opinion this album is worth it just to hear "Pale Song".
