Klimt 1918 "Undressed Momento"

::: Recensione tratta da Metalworks :::

We have a great marriage of musical styles here, carried off with much aplomb. Maybe it’s because I’m a big fan of the country’s Metal output, but there’s just something so quintessentially Italian about this band. The plaintive harmonies, the emotional depth and the European feel just pervade this great CD. Sounding almost exactly like my beloved  Novembre, Klimt 1918 make no bone about incorporating '80s dark rock and pop influences into their Metal, already redolent with references to Anathema and Katatonia. One can easily hear The Cure’s guitar textures weaving their way throughout. The songs are unobtrusive and subtle (quiet, even), allowing the soft vocals to create a solemn and melancholy feel. But, just like Novembre, their masterstroke is the ability to convey a drowsy contentedness in their riffs as well; and few are the bands that can pull this one off. Fans of emotional Metal, buy at once.
