... ::: Live dates! ::: ...

::: 30/12/2006 ::: ... here is Dario's live report of the gig in Budapest translated into English for the friends abroad, together with all his live pictures! More photos from the Hungarian date coming soon...

::: 24/12/2006 ::: Right after the live experience of Klimt 1918 in Budapest and in Belgrade, for the two dates supporting Katatonia, I received a couple of messages from some guys who attended both gigs: here is the live report of the Hungarian date, that I hope I'll finish soon to translate into English; however, if you're curios, you can of course take a look at the play-list: "They were wed by the sea", "Nightdriver", "Snow of '85", "Rachel", "If only you could see me now", "Because of you, tonight", "Parade of adolescence" & "Sleepwalk in Rome"; thanks a lot Dario for sending, also awaiting to get soon the pictures, just to let his nice report look less 'undressed'!
For the rest, I hoped I would've come back to Rome for these Xmas holidays, so that I could've directly talked to Marco or Paolo from Klimt 1918, either for the above-mentioned gigs, or about the new guitarist (as for the section Performers, someone made me notice that I should update it and that's what I also intend to do soon) or some news about the forthcoming album, but I'm confident I won't be able to return :/ So, in the meantime, further to wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, I just wanted to tell you about the release of issue # 3 of Advent 'zine, Italian fanzine (mainly) dedicated to Opeth - this last one is especially dedicated to their monumental release of ten years ago "Morningrise" - as well as the release of second full-lenght album of Dope Stars Inc., "Gigahearts", band in which now plays Alessandro, former guitarist from Klimt 1918, though the musical style is a lil' bit different than that from our Klimt :P

::: 08/12/2006 :::
... has November already come to an end?!? I've not been writing for the fansite for days: always around for gigs during the week-ends and here in Italy we're having a hot autumn-winter season-very hot-even too much hot!, which makes you feel sooo lazy that you can't even imagine... It should be about time that the weather turned a lil' bit more into "Snow of '85" eleven years after, what do you say :) ? Well, to tell you the truth, I'd have so many things to write that I can't even know where to start, but I'm takin' it easy.
Meanwhile (...), a friend told me about a clip found on YouTube, namely a love dedication, with "Pale Song" in the background: if you hadn't watched it yet, have a look right here.
... hey, is there anybody out there who's gonna attend the gigs of Klimt 1918 together with Katatonia, in Budapest or in Belgrade, the next week-end? As I'm used to write, if there was anyone going there, don't be lazy and don't hesitate in dropping me a few lines about the gigs or in sending some live pictures! By the way, I wish everybody a great time during the concerts (even to those like me who will attend the performance of Opeth & Amplifier in the same days instead, of course :D). I hoped so much that the acoustic gig announced some weeks ago and postponed afterwards, woud've held during this week-end, so that I could've spent the long week-end in Rome, but unfortunately it seems there is no news yet and the trip to Rome's postponed...

::: 18/11/2006 ::: Next Monday, the 20th of November, Klimt 1918 would've had to play an acoustic gig in Rome, together with the Roman singer-composer Mauro Di Maggio as well as another band (Volume). Unfortunately, only a few days after the announcement of an interesting event like this, the date's been postponed and the band can't say yet when such gig will take place.  I had also already found someone who could've taken some pictures and telling us about this live experience... Well, let's hope that this date will take place sooner or later, maybe even during a week-end, so that Rome could be a lil' bit more reachable for everyone :)

::: 05/11/2006 ::: A detailed analysis even for "Dopoguerra" taken from the Italian blog Degni di nota  (noteworthy); thanx a lot Chiara for sending me the link and even because she's one of the few persons who's also talked about the beautiful songs included in the second cd... but where has the remix of "Snow of '85" - by Pulcher Femina, if I well remember - that you made me hear in December 2004 got to?!?

::: 28/10/2006 ::: A 'sad, but true' news about Klimt 1918 which I knew it would've officially arrived sooner or later, even because lately, wandering every now and then round myspace.com, he didn't appear anymore among the line-up of ours: guitarist Alessandro isn't part of the band anymore. The various reasons of the split have already been mentioned on both the official website and the blog of the band, but obviously I'm gonna quote even here the message personally written by the guitarist concerned:

Dear Klimt 1918 fans,
It's sad but sometimes it happens: I decided to split with the band.
It's the normal choice when you look around and something doesn't work as well as in the past. Divergences, misunderstandings, different points of view... call 'em as you like. It's a quiet divorce and I'm sure the band will continue its own musical path in the best possible way.
I just want to thank all of you for the appreciations received during these years! I'll continue with my other band and other projects, so if you want just contact me
here to keep updated.
It's just another secession... but secessions never end.

Alessandro

I heard talking about Alessandro in the end of 2002, because in that period he still played with Spiritual Front and a friend of mine told me that he also played in Klimt 1918, for whom I was starting exactly then to write down ::: Alessandro :::the first ideas to dedicate 'em this fansite, when I still thought that the guitarist of the band was Francesco Tumbarello, who had played on the promo.  Then I've personally known him in January 2003, after ther end of a gig round here. I remember I was talking with the drummer of NecrophobiC who was signing me some old stuff of the band, when I notice this guy looking at me: I was almost gonna ask him if he wanted a picture or whatever, ha, ha, ha! So this guy comes closer, asking me if I knew Marco Soellner and I ask him to repeat what he had just said: actually I had understood, but I asked myself why he had to care about whom I knew or not, even because I had never met him before, and I had just heard Marco's singing and playing till then, apart a few mail messages. He repeats the question: 'Do you know M-a-r-c-o S-o-e-l-l-n-e-r ?' - and inside of me I start laughing: '... he's making the spell-it :) ?', ha, ha, ha! Well, he was Alessandro, the new guitarist of Klimt 1918, the one whom the above-mentioned friend of mine told me about some time ago who, before coming back to Rome, left me a tape containing the memorable debut album "Undressed Momento", officially released only 4 months later, for which I'll never end to thank him! The last time I've seen him instead, he was playing at the M'Era Luna Fest. with Dope Stars Inc. and I recognized him with difficulty (I thought he was a roadie, while dealing here and there on the stage before the show :P) and in 2 days of festival he didn't neither deign to let me hear something from him... Enough said. Good luck Alessandro!
... but to replace him promptly arrives Francesco Conte, who some of the most 'ancients' among you will surely remember as member of the Romans Desecration (later D-Form) - my goodness, a lot of time has passed, I've not been playing their record since a lifetime! - and who, according to what written by the band, in these last couple of five-year period has built up a respectable career, both as musician and as composer. ::: Francesco :::And by chance his name is exactly Francesco, just like the first guitarist of Klimt 1918 already mentioned a few lines above, the one who played on the absolutely must-have promo "Secession makes post-modern music", though I doubt that even having played in one of the most historical death acts from Italy, can lead Klimt 1918 back towards more metal musical sonorities, as someone suggested me... However I'm more than confident about the new material, which they're currently arranging and preproducing. Among other things, Francesco's already made his debut on stage for the  Celebrating 10 years of Prophecy Fest., held last week-end in Germany
(even if Paolo told me that for the next gigs the band would've relied even on Massimiliano Pagliuso from Novembre!!!) or better, if someone of you out there had attended such Fest. and wanted to drop a few lines for my fansite or just informing about some live reports, I'm here just waiting for you :) Meanwhile I've seen some live pictures from the site Photopit, even if I'd prefer personally shooting some photo myself, of course (well guys, when will you play again some gigs here in Italy?!?). It seems that from the live performance said above, will be taken the first dvd of the band, which is gonna be released next year.

::: 15/10/2006 ::: A detailed analysis of "Undressed Momento" published only some months ago on an Italian blog called Degni di nota (that means 'noteworthy') and a beautiful interview of May taken from Impatto Sonoro, with some curiosities about a couple of live dates of Klimt 1918 in Germany and something about the lyrix (even of the next album!).

::: 08/10/2006 ::: Another couple of live reports (in Italian) of the gig/event in Rome of the 25th of May with of Novembre, Klimt 1918 & Room with a View, respectively taken from Metal Empire and from the blog Soundscape.

::: 30/09/2006 ::: Unfortunately I'm reading right now that the live dates mentioned below supporting Katatonia have been postponed (probably in December), because of some visas problems that the Swedish godz had during their North American tour...

::: 24/09/2006 ::: So it really seems that Klimt 1918 will support Katatonia even for the Serbian date in Belgrade, the 8th of October 2006, and that an additional date in Hungary for the 6th of October is gonna be confirmed soon; let's cross our fingers for the band! Meanwhile, even the Celebrating 10 years of Prophecy Fest. of the 21th of October is getting near: Dornenreich, Neun Welten & Subaudition should play in the afternoon; in the evening instead are foreseen the performances of The Vision Bleak, Secrets of the moon, Dark Suns and of our Klimt 1918.

::: 03/09/2006 ::: ... here I am coming back to you after summer holidays with the English translation of the live report taken from Bleeding Wound that I had proposed myself to complete during August, as well as with the review of "Dopoguerra" (but this is only in Italian, sorry!) always taken from Andrea's blog said above (thanks a lot!).
As you would've already known at the end of July, the gig of Klimt 1918 at K17 in Berlin has been cancelled, since their flight couldn't leave because of safety reasons. What a pity for all those who had already gone on the place :/ I presume that even their partecipation at the
Rock in Idro of this week-end has been cancelled, as I've never heard talkin' about this anymore since time and even because their name has never been included in the bill mentioned on the flyers of this Festival. By the way, someone of you would surely have the chance to catch 'em live in Budapest (!!!), the 7th of October 2006, in company of Katatonia (hoping that this time everything will turn out well and that won't happen the same thing as in May 2004...), just awaiting the confirmation of some Italian dates together with Novembre of which they told me about a couple of months ago...

::: 27/07/2006 ::: Before leaving for summer holidays, I would've liked to greet you with a very nice live report of the gig/event of Novembre, Klimt 1918 & Room with a View of the past 25th of May at Alpheus in Rome, which I had lately found on an Italian blog, Andrea's one, BleedingWound. It's just a pity that I haven't been able to complete the English translation and that I haven't been neither able to add some pictures shot during the gig by Andrea himself; however you can find a link to his live pictures in the page including his impressions about the night or directly visiting his blog. I'll try to adjust everything when summer holidays are over, 'coz here in Florence is too hot, and after spending about 10 hours in front of a pc in the office, at work, I can't really stand to start again writing here at home!
I just wanted to remind you that in a couple of days, the 29th of July, Klimt 1918 will play at K17 in Berlin, together with The Birthday Massacre - just hoping that in the meantime even this date hasn't been cancelled! - as well as the performance of Dope Stars Inc. - in which even plays Alessandro, guitarist of Klimt 1918 - on Saturday, the 12th of August, for the M'Era Luna Fest. in Hildesheim, always in Germany, where I'll come back even this year!
I wish you all a great summer and talk to you again in September! Cheerzzz!!!

::: 13/07/2006 :::  I spent the past week-end in Rome, where I had the chance to meet Paolo of Klimt 1918 (unfortunately you won't be able to see him while driving about my friend and me among the streets of the capital, because the only photo I shot him, hasn't come out so well defined, sorry :/ ). As already mentioned some weeks ago on the blog of the band, he told me that the songs which are gonna compose the new album are already completed since time, even if haven't been rehearsed for a few months. It seems that the new record will be once again recorded at the Outer Sound Studios of Giuseppe Orlando from Novembre, and that once again ours will address themselves abroad for the mastering, just like done for "Dopoguerra".
As to the live gigs, unfortunately an European tour as supporting act of the Norwegian
Zeromancer, has been cancelled. But Paolo told me that in December they will (finally!) play somewhere round here in Florence, together with Novembre (yahooo!!!); they should also play together with Novembre in Pordenone, as well as somewhere in Sardinia... and let's hope that further dates will be soon added to these ones just mentioned.
In the end, as regards the Celebrating 10 years of Prophecy Fest., further to Klimt 1918, The Vision Bleak and Dornenreich, have been also confirmed another couple of bands from the same label, and namely Dark Suns and Secrets of the moon.

::: 03/07/2006 :::  I've just noticed a new live date in the Tour section of the official site of Klimt 1918 - altough to be still confirmed - that is their presence to the 2° edition of Rock in Idro, which will be exactly held at Idroscalo in Milan, Saturday, the 2nd and Sunday, the 3rd of September, during the which will alternate, on two different stages, the most various emo-punk-rock (...) bands such as Buzzcocks, Thursday, Pennywise, The (Int.) Noise Conspiracy, The Damned e many many more...

::: 20/06/2006 :::  I was just reading on the blog of the band that the recording sessions of the very long waited follow up of "Dopoguerra" should start within autumn, since the new songs are ready and there is even a title for the new album, though we can't have more info from the band for the time being...
And here is another very good news about live gigs: Klimt 1918 will play at K17 in Berlin, on 29/07/2006, supporting The Birthday Massacre, with whom they had already the pleasure to play together during the past summer, for some dates of their '
Dopoguerra Summer Tour 2005'. Perhaps other dates will follow the one said above, but anything's been confirmed yet. Well, doubly lucky the German guys and maybe even some Italian leaving for summer holidays at the end of July, who'll have the chance to catch 'em live! You gotta feel Berlin...

::: 17/06/2006 :::  Some pictures shot with the mobile phone during the gig/event in Rome at the end of May here; thanx Dirge for sending!
And a good news as to the live gigs, especially for the German fans, since Klimt 1918 will play right there in Deutschland, for celebrating the 10th years' anniversary of the label Prophecy, the 21th of October 2006, together with The Vision Bleak and Dornenreich (that should be the bands confirmed so far). More info however can be found directly on the site of the label itself.

::: 10/06/2006 ::: A couple of missing Italian reviews, respectively taken from Hardsounds e Music Club  (I just wanted to translate for you the last sentence of this review: A dreaming work which makes you dream: it will be like finding yourselves in the presence of a nymph who, flying away and flapping her elegant wings, cover of purple our face and eyes, and us, enraptured, remain there staring at her flying 'till she won't completely disappear in one of the most starry skies ever... and, entirely bewitched, we will ask ourselves 'But have I dreamt or was it all for real?').

::: 03/06/2006 ::: ... here is a live report of the gig with Novembre, Klimt 1918 & Room with a View of some days ago in Rome, at Alpheus, taken from Sardcofago (thanx Daniele!).

::: 25/05/2006 ::: ... don't forget that Klimt 1918, together with Room with a View, will open the show of  Novembre of tonight at Alpheus in Rome (h. 21:30, entrance € 10.=)!!! ... just hoping that a night like this won't remain an isolated episode to the capital only, but that an occasion of this kind will soon arise even in other Italian towns (and not only, why not?), considered that a lot of people - me included :/ - won't be able to attend such an event... Enjoy the gig and good luck to these three great bands!!!

::: Novembre, Klimt 1918 & Roow with a View - Live @ Alpheus, Rome, 25/05/2006 :::

::: 21/05/2006 ::: A new review of "Undressed Momento" directly from Mexico, taken from Infected Sound Magazine # 3, which is gonna be out soon, awaiting that they'll soon review "Dopoguerra" too and that will also interview Klimt 1918 (understood Oscar?!?).
... and then, a few lines from an interview of Lux done with En Declin which I've recently read from Kronic...

How was born the collaboration with Marco of Klimt 1918, an artist whom I appreciate very much for his musical qualities?
We also appreciate him very much! There's a relationship of deep esteem with Klimt 1918 and thus we wanted to take advantage of this, asking Maco to sing for us the bridge in "Isquosadmove". He accepted and we found him at the Outer Sound Studios during the recordings of the vocals. Then we had a great chat together with him and Paolo (the drummer of Klimt 1918) concerning the gig of Duran Duran of a few days before, of the marvellous Tears For Fears and about Pet Shop Boys… a fine day!

::: 18/05/2006 ::: As you will have already noticed, since the beginning of this week is finally on line the new official website of Klimt 1918, although some sections are still 'under construction' - especially the more interesting, such as 'Gallery' and the 'Forum' (!!!). So I'm gonna have a deeper look right now even myself and reading what they say in the Biography... Just let me add the picture taken together with Paolo in Milan, before the gig of  Novembre & KatatoniA  of the past Monday, the 8th of May!

::: 12/05/2006 ::: Monday this week, the 8th of May, I was in Milan in occasion of the first Italian date of 'The great cold spring European tour' of the Swedish KatatoniA, together with Novembre adored. 'Special Guest' of the afternoon outside the Rainbow club... Paolo Soellner from Klimt 1918!!! - who had to lend Novembre a hand, and who gave me the girlie of "Dopoguerra", but above all the so long waited reprint in dvd format of the absolutely must have promo 2000 "Secession makes post-modern music" (and not in digipack edition, as I wrote by mistake in the News of January): here you separately are the cover and the back of the reprint, as well as the pictures inside, which however are the same of the promo, but of a different colour. I suggest everybody who hadn't heard yet such jewel of the promo to get the reprint soon, since that's where the story started, at least for me...
Then Paolo told me about a summer fest. which should be held for a couple of days or so around Milan, during the week after the Italian Gods of Metal, but honestly I don't remember the name of such fest. and however it wasn't confirmed yet. Furthermore, as the fourth edition of Flippaut 2006 had to take place right during the same week-end of the above-mentioned Gods of Metal, it's been postponed to Friday, the 21st and Saturday, the 22nd of July, in Milan, Idroscalo, instead of Bologna, as announced some months ago. As for the presence of Klimt 1918, initially included in the bill of the first day, I'm not sure yet and probably nor them: I've tried to find something in the net, but the names of the 'minor' bands have all to be confirmed :/
In the end, I just wanted to tell you about the release of the second issue of Advent 'zine, a fanzine written in italian, dedicated to the music of Opeth (but not only!) that even includes the review of "Dopoguerra" of Klimt 1918. Greetings to Eugenio & Fabio for their great work done on issue # 2, neverthless for the beautiful review, he, he, he... And of course, many many thanx again to Paolo and a huge hello to all the fans of Klimt 1918 met and knew in Milan (Alice, Caterina, Raffaela, Valentina, Eugenio, Simone, Cinzia & Stefano, Geatano & Francesco 'Cheers for Novembre', the girl from Poland... everybodyyy!!!).

::: 30/04/2006 ::: Nothing better than concluding this month of April, announcing you that Klimt 1918 are gonna launch their new official website (even if probably you would've already read such news directly on their site or on the blog...), which should be ready within summertime: finally! ... considered that "Dopoguerra" was realeased one year ago, it should be about time for a new site, what do you say?!? Don't make as the undersigned who's not doing anything new or special since time by now...

::: 17/04/2006 :::  Live section updated!!! Directly from the Newsletter of Novembre (if you hadn't done it yet, go immediately buying their new album "Materia"!!!): Klimt 1918 will play on Thursday, the 25th of May, at Alpheus of Rome, (and even Room with a View, authors of the excellent "Collecting shells at Lighthouse hill", will support Novembre that night!!!). Although - 'coz of my work - I won't be able to attend at 99% the Roman gig of my dreams,  isn't it cool they're gonna play all together?!? I'm already lookin' forward to receiving all your pictures, live reports and so forth...

::: 04/04/2006 ::: I've finally found a live report about the performance of Klimt 1918 during the Dark Day Festival of the last December 2005 in Milan, taken from Hardsounds (thanks Pierre!), hoping that sooner or later they'll even review "Dopoguerra"...

::: 31/03/2006 ::: Interview (only in Italian) done with Paolo from Klimt 1918, taken from Babylon Magazine.

::: 12/03/2006 ::: Here is also the review of "Dopoguerra" taken from Maelstrom # 32; thanx Roberto for both informin' and linkin' me: 'Site in Italian and English dedicated to the excellent Italian goth/rock/metal band Klimt 1918' ... :D

::: 04/03/2006 ::: A couple of reviews of "Undressed Momento", one taken from Maelstrom # 16 and the other from Darkdose (written by Jesse Haff, known as the web-designer of the last official web-sites of KatatoniA, as well as member of Daylight Dies). And there is also a review of "Dopoguerra" taken from Moonlight (that's only in Italian).

::: 18/02/2006 ::: I just wanted to translate into English something for you recently written by Marco from Klimt 1918 on the official band's blog, about their next studio album. Here are his words:

We're alive! Never die! Klimt 1918, are working with bended heads in the rehearsal room for the successor of "Dopoguerra", whose recording sessions will start during summer!  We've got altogether 13 brand-new songs, of which 5 have been already arranged. In the next months which divide us from the 'big closing' in the studio, we will complete the others. Do you want any anticipation? Nothing! This time we will stay quiet till the day before the official release of the record (that's got already a title). Expect just few posts, few declarations. One thing is sure: the times of "Undressed Momento" and "Secession..." are definitely over (and when I say definitely, it means DEFINITELY). Lovers of the early Klimt 1918, set your minds at rest... We can't go back!

... I confidently wait, and not only to hear this new record... but even to get soon the reprint of the promo "Secession...", hi, hi, hi! You can't go back of course, but you can't neither forget what you loved first!

::: 12/02/2006 ::: With a week's delay, I just wanted to tell you that the past week-end Klimt 1918 would've had to play as supporters during the Italian dates of the European tour of Editors - and exactly  the 3rd @ Velvet, Rimini, the 4th @ Qube, Rome and the 5th @ Rolling Stones, Milan. But it seems that the headliners themselves personally chose to play together with a band of their acquaintance, and namely Gliss. What a pity!
And remaining in the topic 'better late than never', I also just wanted to publish the Italian Alternative Chart of December 2005, managed by Capture Promotion, in which even our Klimt 1918 appear at # 9 of the list:

::: 26/01/2006 ::: The chosen song for the radio program's been "If only you could see me now", from the debut album "Undressed Momento", complete with dedication to the undersigned, to this fansite and obviously to the guys from Klimt 1918. Thanks a lot to Giorgio & Cinzia (... what cool those bandits of Backyard Babies in the opening! And glad that you also played "Make a star" by Dope Stars Inc.).

::: 25/01/2006 ::: Tonight, from 24:00 to 01:30, there's Beat! - http://radiocittafujiko.it/home/onair - and if everything works right, even one song by Klimt 1918 should be included in the play-list.

::: 22/01/2006 ::: A beautiful interview with Marco from Klimt 1918 taken from Distorsioni (sooner or later available even in English!); thanx Boda!

::: 12/01/2006 ::: Bcs of one speaker's fever, the radio program mentioned only yesterday has been postponed (probably to the next Wednesday); what a pity for the missed radio passage of Klimt 1918 during Beat! :/

::: 11/01/2006 ::: From 24:00 to approx. 02:00 of tonight, try listening to Radio Città Fujiko -  http://radiocittafujiko.it/home/onair - and you'll have the chance to hear Klimt 1918 (as well as Dope Stars Inc.!) and some cool glam/street metal (glitters forever!). Considering is my birthday, you must absolutely make me a dedication. Shine on Skunky!

::: 07/01/2006 :::  Let's start the new year with a recent review of "Dopoguerra" taken from Silent Scream  (thanx a lot  Dario for informing me!).
While I was spending my Xmas holidays in Rome, I had the chance to meet Paolo from Klimt 1918 and I've known that lately the Promo 2000, "Secession makes post-modern music", has been reprinted as digipack edition; at the moment copies are already over, but will be soon available again and I'm already lookin' forward to get mine ('Viva Secession')! Paolo also told me about some future gigs as support to a couple or three important bands of the rock/metal scene, but since you can never tell, I just don't wanna write anything for the time being. Let's hope to know some more and with certainty soon, directly from them. So stay tuned for more news...
